What's under our BBQs

All of our BBQ’s are built on a concrete footing. This concrete is mixed on site using a mixture of sand, Portland and water. What we do is excavate and compact the soil. Footing sizes will vary depending on the size of the structure. We then add our concrete footing and set our first course on top of the concrete so it will bond as one unit.

Preparation

Planning for an outdoor kitchen is one of the most important steps to getting one installed. As the homeowner you will need to make sure the area in which you want to place the kitchen doesn’t break any code with your town and/or village in which you live and if you need any variance. Also, note that if you want a gas line installed you will need a licensed plumber and electrician for any electrical outlets you may need. With that being said not all kitchens require plumbing and electric.

Installation

All of our outdoor BBQ installations that are made out of a Wallstone type material that will be built on a concrete footing. You can choose from olde English Wall, Matrix Wall or Culture Stone. The footing size varies depending on the size of the kitchen. Once the footing is dug out, we will need to plan on any sleeves and access points for electrical, gas plumbing, water plumbing and drainage plumbing. We will set our first course in the concrete. Our team will build each course up using the correct adhesive material between each course and installing metal lentils anywhere we have a cabinet or opening in the kitchen (similar to a header over your doorway or window in a house). Everything is built up to the correct heights needed and notched out in the correct spots to fit the outdoor BBQ and any add-ons. bbq installation

Added Expenses?

Keep in mind, when you receive an estimate from us to take note whether or not it includes appliances and countertops and if it doesn’t say, be sure to ask. More often than not our in-person estimates do not include the cost of countertops, appliances and cabinets you choose. Also, we do not factor in the cost for electricians and plumbers. outdoor bbq installation

Design

Whether you want an upgrade from your normal standalone BBQ to a full-fledged functional BBQ installation, the designs are endless. Budget plays a big factor in the design of your kitchen. The kitchen can be built in many shapes and sizes like: straight, L-shaped and even U-shaped with add-ons like bar height seating. Outdoor BBQ options vary depending on the size you will be able to add more cabinets, sink, extra burners, barbacks, and more. When adding all these things you will want to keep in mind the form and function, ensuring you don’t lose too much space for food prep. outdoor bbq installation
